The way forward to new kitchen

We have ripped up the ceramic tiles in the kitchen, only to find delightful 70's-style-brown vinyl tiles. Most of the carpet has also been taken up -- bar one room. We have demolished the kitchen -- luckily we have another one ready to be delivered! :)

We have found a tap, in the middle of the floor, underneath the old breakfast bar. This was unexpected, but hopefully we can tie it off without too much trouble and get it out of the way under the floor.

We need the house empty with all the floorboards exposed for this Saturday when the floor sanding will occur. After then it will be a few days without internet whilst we live in a less smelly location!

Look George, I dug a hole!

Our illustrious PM has gone on another US jaunt, as he frequently does, to catch up with his mate George W and promise him a few more troops and various other secret things.

This time he dug a hole.

I'm sure there's a myriad of captions that can be added to this photo :)

Get yer back into it!
An honest day's work?
(As well as several derogatory versions I can think of!)

In other news, CNN turned on the cameras a little too early before GWB was ready

The Media circus

The state of the Australian media is ridiculous.

There have been two miners trapped in a collapsed mine in Beaconsfield down in Tasmania for the last fortnight or so, and the Australian media have swamped the poor town, clamoring for interviews and even disrupting the rescue attempt on occasion.

On the plus side, miners in the local pub spun a yarn to an ABC reporter that was actually reported, indicating the media's desperation.

The PM must be devastated, as it has taken him and his ministers, the AWB and the Cole report off the front pages.
